seq2R: An R Package to Detect Change Points in DNA Sequences

Identifying the mutational processes that shape nucleotide composition of mitochondrial genome (mtDNA) is fundamental to better understand how these genomes evolve. Several methods have been proposed analyze DNA sequence and skewness, but most them lack any measurement statistical support or were not developed taking into account specificities genomes. A new methodology presented, which specifically for mtDNA detect compositional changes asymmetries (AT CG skews) based on nonparametric regression models their derivatives. The method also includes construction confidence intervals, are built using bootstrap techniques. This paper introduces an R package, known as seq2R, implements methodology. Moreover, illustration use seq2R provided real data, two publicly available complete mtDNAs: human (Homo sapiens) a nematode (Radopholus similis) mitogenome sequence.
